Opportunities to feedback to the Australian Government

The Australian government is seeking your views through a number of discussion papers and reports. See some of these below. Most of this feedback has a February or March deadline.  

  • Jobs and Skills Australia discussion paper 

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations has released a Jobs and Skills Australia discussion paper. The paper is an opportunity for interested parties to provide their views to the Australian Government about the ongoing arrangements of JSA, ahead of permanent arrangements being finalised. Submissions close 5pm AEDT 10 February 2023 and can be made at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations’ website.  

  • Future delivery of foundation skills training in remote Australia discussion paper 

On 8 December  2022 the Australian Government released the Future delivery of foundation skills training in remote Australia discussion paper. The paper is seeking your views on how training delivery can be strengthened. The opportunity to provide feedback is now open. Submissions close at 5 pm AEDT on Monday 13 February 2023.  

  • Review of the Australian Core Skills Framework and Digital Literacy Skills Framework 

Last year the Australian Council for Educational Research was commissioned to conduct a review of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and the Digital Literacy Skills Framework (DLSF). The report, Review of the Australian Core Skills Framework and Digital Literacy Skills Framework and relevant assessment tools, makes two main recommendations with eight sub recommendations. The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is inviting feedback on the recommendations to inform future updates to the ACSF.   • Parliamentary Inquiry into VET 

The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training has commenced a new inquiry into the perceptions and status of VET in Australia, and how this affects the choices of students, employers and educators in choosing a post-secondary schooling pathway to employment. You can make a submission to the inquiry addressing the terms of reference until Wednesday 1 March 2023. 

  • Qualification Model consultation 

Australian, state and territory governments are seeking your feedback on the new proposed qualifications model through an online survey.
